Position Description:
12-month tenure track Assistant/Associate Professor with a competitive salary and benefits package. The position is available for the 2012/2013 academic year.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have experiential knowledge and clinical expertise primarily in Neuromuscular Differential Diagnosis and Rehabilitation. In addition, teaching and clinical expertise in Acute Care, Amputee/Prosthetic Management, and/or Wound Care is also desired. A physical therapist with a doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, DSc) is required for this faculty position. An applicant with Clinical Specialist certification in neurology, pediatrics or geriatrics will be given priority review. The candidate must be eligible for licensure in Pennsylvania, with a 5 year minimum teaching, clinical and/or research experience. Opportunities within the Position: We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual interested in teaching primarily in the program's regressive neuromuscular curriculum. Pediatrics and acute care practice are also potential areas of teaching in this faculty role. The flexible nature of this position also offers the successful applicant the possibility of directing student research projects, as well as opportunities to engage in an existing or new research agenda through the Human Performance Laboratory in the DiSepio Institute for Rural Health and Wellness. Individual scholarly endeavors may be enhanced by the potential to develop research partnerships through collaboration with the Center of Excellence for Remote and Medically Underserved Areas (CERMUSA). Faculty-led clinical practice opportunities are also available through our on-campus clinic at the Institute for Rehabilitation. In addition, the successful candidate is highly encouraged to participate in service to the university through committee involvement, student advisement, and community outreach activities.

The Chemistry Department at Saint Francis University invites applications for a two-year teaching postdoctoral fellow in physical chemistry or related field (physical-organic/-analytical/-inorganic). The principal responsibilities of the teaching post-doctoral fellow will be to teach courses and laboratories in the areas of general and/or physical chemistry under the mentorship of a faculty member. The fellow is also encouraged to perform research and mentor undergraduate students in research activities. The position will start Fall 2012 and involve at least half-time classroom teaching. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. and demonstrate a commitment to excellence in chemical education. Saint Francis University is a liberal arts college, located in Loretto, PA about a 30-minute drive from Altoona, PA and Johnstown, PA.

Assistant Professor, Exercise Physiology

Position: Assistant Professor of Exercise Physiology
Appointment: Tenure Track Appointment Starting Spring 2012
This exciting 12 month position will offer the qualified applicant the opportunity to teach in the growing undergraduate program in exercise physiology. The exercise physiology program has four concentrations: Fitness Professionals, Pre-Allied Health, Research/Graduate and a Pre-Professional/Pre-Med Concentration. Individuals with a clear research agenda, preferably in the areas of chronic disease prevention, wellness, and community fitness particularly for underserved or rural populations are encouraged to apply.
The preferred candidate should hold a PhD in Clinical Exercise Physiology or related field (ABD's in the final stages of doctorate will also be considered), with demonstrated clinical exercise physiology experience, and an ability to teach undergraduate introductory and advanced exercise physiology courses including, clinical exercise physiology, exercise testing and prescription and exercise across the lifespan. Additional courses based on interest and expertise could include sport nutrition, functional anatomy, research methods or seminars in areas of interest. An individual with certification (CES, RCEP, CSCS, HFS) is preferred. In addition, this position offers the opportunity to coordinate scholarly research and to develop interdisciplinary outreach programming in the Human Performance Laboratory housed in the DiSepio Institute for Rural Health and Wellness. The future development of an accredited MS in clinical exercise physiology program is also under consideration. Faculty members are expected to demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching, student advising, and university service, participate in undergraduate research, as well as professional service as evidenced by maintaining membership and involvement in national and regional exercise science professional organizations.

Saint Francis University invites applications for a tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level to begin Fall 2012. Primary teaching responsibilities include undergraduate abnormal psychology, lifespan development, and introductory psychology. Opportunity to teach in the applicant’s specialty area will also become available. The successful candidate will assist the department in developing courses in one of a number of possible areas, including, but not limited to, neuroscience, developmental psychopathology, undergraduate-level clinical-community psychology, industrial/organizational psychology, or human performance (human performance laboratory space and equipment is available for use.) Interest in involving undergraduate psychology majors in ongoing laboratory or community-based research is essential.

Qualifications include a Ph.D. in Psychology (qualified ABDs will be considered).

The Department of Physical Therapy is seeking a part time Administrative Assistant for the Exercise Physiology program which is housed in the Physical Therapy Department. This position reports to both the Program Coordinator of the Exercise Physiology program and the Chairperson of the Department of Physical Therapy, and performs a variety of secretarial and administrative support duties for the Exercise Physiology program.

Graduate Assistant - Center for Global Competitiveness

The Small Business Development Center provides a wide range of assistance to both existing and prospective small business owners. Included in this is a variety of marketing related activities both for our clients but also for the Center itself. Through its Center for Global Competitiveness, the Center provides assistance to small to medium sized businesses seeking to be more competitive in the global economy. The Center provides in-depth market research for companies using a variety of resources. This would include individualized marketing consulting and educational programs, among others. Internally, the individual would assist with the various marketing activities of the Center
The graduate assistant would assist the director with the duties as outlined above. This would include direct work with client companies. The assistantship would be for a maximum of 20 hours per week depending on the number of credits taken each semester. The ideal candidate will have a degree in marketing or a related field.
